Today the USA Men much like the women (their tourney runs have become quite similar) came off a heartbreaking quarterfinal loss to rebound with a win. The difference being the men got some measure of revenge defeating Germany who had beaten them to open the tournament. The victory sends the USA to a match against Spain on Saturday for fifth place which will close out competition here. Just two games left, can't believe it is just about done...actually I can, it seems like we have been here for quite a while. Today's game was fun to watch as Germany made things interesting towards the end, hopefully there can be another positive outcome on Saturday to build for things headed towards the Pan Am Games. The USA Women take on Australia tomorrow which is always a good game. Even thought it is for fifth place I'd expect nothing less in this one.
Not much else to report, I watche some swimming today on tv, not in person, unfortunately timing did not work out. Incredible race between Lochte and Phelps for anyone that saw the 200IM final. .16 separating the two of them...pretty much fingertips at the wall...should make for a very interesting build up to London. I have a feeling we will be hearing a ton of Lochte vs Phelps over the next year. Tried to watch a dvd today on the hotel room dvd player and was told that it did not play American dvds. I found this odd since the Samsung dvd player looked like something I would get at Best Buy and the screen said in perfect English "disc error." As Ron Burgundy once said, I guess I'll just have to take you, at your word. Some potential to get around the city in the final days here with all the matches early the rest of the way, we'll see how that goes.

But the other big news is getting ready for Junior Olympics. They start on Saturday. We'll be doing a live webcast of all the platinum division Gold Medal matches on Tuesday and Sunday, boys and then girls, free of charge on teamusa.org. Should be alot of fun. So if you are interested make sure to tune in to waterpolo.teamusa.org to see myself and Pat Beemer call all the action.
Women's update tomorrow...
