The start of the tourney is upon us, and for me much like the players, I'm ready for the games to begin. There is only so much non game stuff you can do when the purpose of a trip is to play some important games. So with that said it starts tomorrow morning (Sunday) at 8:30am local time, aka Central time in the USA with the Women taking on Argentina. That is followed by the men playing Venezuela at 2:30pm. Three straight days of games before the semi-finals so as gold old Jim Ross used to say "business just picked up!"
As for today it was a practice session for both teams at the competition pool. The finishing touches (and I'm using that lightly) were put on the pool. The ref ramps and other things were still being installed but it sounds like everything will be ready to go tomorrow.
More updates after the games, follow along at twitter.com/usawp for live tweeting during the matches. Recaps posted at www.usawaterpolo.org.
